Venue Directions With Maps!

The Hoot started back in 1998 in the small, artsy fartsy community of
Cambria, California, on the southern footsteps of the Big Sur range.

Steven R See has been producing concerts and music on California's left
coast since 1973 having had the pleasure to present many, wonderful
performers
such as Kate Wolf, the Dillards, Ray Charles, Ronnie Montrose, Jerry
Garcia, Journey, John Fahey, Vince Gill and many others.

We now do most of our concerts in smaller, intimate venues ranging in
size between 70 to 275 seats.

The Cambria Hoot is much more than just a crass commercial attempt for a shot at picking your wallet. It's a community. No really, I'm not joking here! Many people and businesses contribute their time and talent to bring live music lovers like you the kind of entertainment not found anywhere else on the Central Coast. Dig it!

Celebrating Our 12th Season!

Welcome to our new website, with more features, options and doodads! The Hoot Roadshow has been bringing outstanding performers and enthusiastic music lovers together at quality venues for over a decade now and we would like to thank everyone involved for all their help and support. The Dorian Michael
& Kenny Blackwell Quartet
With Jack Joshua & Bill Severance

Image of Kenny Blackwell and Dorian Michael

Mandolinist Kenny Blackwell studied with the legendary Jethro Burns before moving to
California where he joined fiddler Richard Green's band in 1993.
His mandolin and guitar work have been heard in numerous TV and movie scores.
Since 1994 he has been a member of the famed west coast bluegrass band -the Laurel Canyon Ramblers.

Guitarist Dorian Michael has played about every musical style and in every type of situation
a blue collar musician could hope for. After years of honky-tonk electric guitar followed by
a serious switch to a solo fingerstyle guitar style this project with Kenny is a whole new challenge.

And just to make it interesting, if you can prove you were born in the month of June, you get in free! Don't mess with us here, you must have real proof, forgeries will be added to our small but distinguished collection. Or bring your mother to show us her stretchmarks.
